To all you lurkers 3 March, 2008

Why is it that one post can have OVER then 40 views and NOT 1 COMMENTS??? Isn’t it rude to peep over the wall and not make your presence known? That means you are lurking. There is only this one specific post that got all those views today. That  is the most views I have ever received for any post at any given time.

So someone out there has taken a keen interest and made it their duty to “spread the word” but conveniently forgot a very important aspect …

Reading and not commenting is like coming into my house - drinking my coffee, eating my biscuits and not greeting me.

Hi Addie,

I think every blog has lurkers, and many more in comparison to commenters. I don’t think in most cases it is meant to be rude. I know for me in some cases it depends on the time I have and the mood I am in and whether I feel I have anything worthwhile to say about what I am reading.

I don’t which post got 40 views, but I was concerned about a post I saw a day or two ago that apparently has been removed. I just wanted to say — if what was in that post is going on in your home, you need to get help immediately.

And if that post is the one that got so many views, people probably didn’t comment because they had no idea what to say.

Thanks, Barbara H … yes, I deleted the post. I felt akward about the attention the post received. It had no direct implication on me or my family, which I am grateful for and I didn’t really have permission to blog about it

I do comment when I have something worthwhile and the time to drop a note… so hope I’m not considered a lurker… but … I might actually be one…

I’m not following what’s going on with the post that was deleted but hope things are ok on your end!!!

I feel the same way. I average 200 hits to my blog a day with maybe mmmmm 10 comments?

Its funny that about a week or so ago I had a comment left on my blog saying he was surprised that despite the fact that I am a Do follow blog I had so little comments.

I have a friend who reads my blog everyday for the last year and I can count on my hand how many times she commented.

I would really love to get more comments and interaction but its not the main reason I blog, so …..
